5 Unpleasant Symptoms Of Micromineral Overdose

By:

The microminerals are a group of nutrients that your body generally requires in amounts of 100 milligrams (mg) or less each day. They have many different health benefits in the human body which include boosting the immune system, fighting cancer and protecting the body's cells from oxygen related damage. However, eating large amounts of microminerals can be detrimental to your health. That is why today I am going to be sharing 5 unpleasant symptoms of micromineral overdose and discussing how they can be avoided.

1) GROWTH PROBLEMS:- The microminerals are well known for supporting healthy growth in both children and adults. However, consuming too much can have the opposite effect and lead to a variety of growth problems such as reduced growth rates and stunted growth.

2) INCREASED CANCER RISK:- Many of the microminerals have cancer fighting properties and have been linked with the prevention of bone cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer and prostate cancer. However, micromineral overdose can negate these benefits and actually increase your risk of developing cancer.

3) MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS:- The microminerals have countless benefits when it comes to mental health. They have been shown to support brain development, brain function and memory whilst also preventing mental disorders such as Alzheimer's disease (a type of dementia) and depression (a mental state which causes feelings of gloom and inadequacy). However, micromineral overdose can be detrimental to your mental health and cause depression and irritability.

4) STOMACH PROBLEMS:- Eating adequate amounts of microminerals can help treat a variety of digestive problems and promote optimal stomach health. However, eating large amounts of these nutrients can cause a number of stomach problems and in the worst cases damage the lining of the stomach.

5) WEAKNESS:- The microminerals play a key role in the release of energy throughout the body. However, micromineral overdose can override this function and actually cause you to become weak which makes it very difficult to perform regular day to day tasks.

SUMMARY

Whilst micromineral overdose is relatively uncommon, it is still something to be aware of. Many health supplements on the market today contain extremely high levels of these nutrients and if you do not keep an eye on the ingredients you can quite easily overdose. To avoid micromineral overdose try to eat fresh, natural foods and only use supplements when you have no other option. Also be aware of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) for each micromineral and try to stick to it. If you do this your micromineral consumption should always be within safe levels.
