1. Plan ahead
You need to know who your competitors are and know what their strong and weak points are. Dont try to copy them, but make sure you know your market and industry and know what youre up against. Colour is very important when you come to design your website. Blues and greens can convey professionalism and trust, whilst reds can signify danger and anger. Dont put the menu down the right hand side of your website, as this is associated with advertising. Keep it horizontal along the top of the page or vertical down the left hand side.
