5 Sunbrellas Styles

5 Sunbrellas Styles

By:

While most of us associate umbrellas with rain, they are actually equally effective in protecting us from the sun. From beach brollies, to outdoor shade sails, to stylish lace parasols, sunbrellas are actually quite popular. Some uses of them you might have seen and like include:

1. Beach brollies:

Those looking for shade at the beach should not depend on local hotels and public beach services to provide it to them. Travelling with an umbrella big enough to fit yourself and who or whatever else you bring to the beach with you is the only way to guarantee comfort and UV ray protection. Moreover, it's a great way for friends to identify where you're sitting "under the polkadot umbrella" you say?

2. White lace parasols:

It is not uncommon to see white lace umbrellas at summer weddings. Of course they are usually being held in the hands of the party's most stylish women- after all it takes a certain confidence to rock that look (so to speak).

3. Japanese umbrellas:

Today Japanese umbrellas are, for the most part, made out of paper, but originally they were made with silk. They are often painted with beautiful designs and Japanese imagery such as birds, trees, sun and water. Over the years Japanese umbrellas have become a very sought after item.

4. Outdoor shade sails:

In large areas such as school campuses, backyard gardens, or office building courtyards, outdoor shade sails are a popular and stylish way to block out the sun. Unlike gazebos, shade sails don't take up a lot of room and can be designed in a multitude of shapes, styles, and colours.

5. Royal carriages:

Ever watch an old movie where Cleopatra or some ancient queen is being transported by carriage? Ever noticed the covering hanging over top? It's often made of some woven tapestry with dangling details. These beautiful canopies not only compliment the carriage's design but protect the royal heads of those sitting beneath them.

So if you're feeling stylish and bold then try accessorizing yourself with a sunbrella. They can also be used for decoration. You could leave a white lace one open over your bed, or keep several closed in a stand. You might want to bring them on your sailboat, or while walking your baby in their pram. Attach it to your chaise -lounge, or convert it into a hat! Whatever way you choose to use it, your skin will thank you!
