5 Steps To Conquer Any Networking Event

By:

Whenever you confront any networking event, especially in business and if you want to conquer it, you would need to have an edge over others. Most of the time, people see the opportunity but are not able to convert it into success and that is why, it is important to do some pre-work before going to the event. Here are the simple 5 steps to conquer any networking event:
Step-1 Form the Event- specific goals:
The backbone of leaving a mark on others mind and conquering any event is establishing the goal before you participate in the event. Be a man with a plan else you will just waste your time by going without preparation. This step is also important because your motive of going into any event or conference is not just floating around people rather it is to conquer the event. So, be specific and work out things for yourself which gives you an X-factor.
Step-2 Find your Targets and connect yourself with them:
After forming your goals for the upcoming events, the other thing that proves to be of great importance is to identify which person can help you in achieving those goals. Well, it is a crucial step as identifying them will consume some time and afterwards connecting with them is not so easy. But in order to achieve certain goals, you have to do this at any cost. You can get the information on the internet about the people attending the event and all you need to do is to formulate things regarding how these people can help you in reaching your event goals.
Step-3 Event card
People get overwhelmed when they come to know that you read their blogs or know what they said or what their opinion about things is or what position they hold in an organization or society. You can remember it either for pleasing them or if you want to know what is their thought process about certain things. This is important because you do not wish to annoy them by contradicting them in the very first meeting. You want things to go perfectly and according to plan but sometimes this learning gets a bit confusing when your list of targets is big. At that time, the event card is of great help. You can write different event cards for different targets and whenever you forget something, it will help you in a quick revision about the facts.
Step-4 Make your presence felt
This is important as it will ease your time consumption in reaching a goal. For that you have to grab every opportunity which can show that you are the one person worth knowing. Moreover, you can connect yourself with the other people attending the event before the event starts and then you can introduce two strangers. Do not over do things and dont ever let anyone feel that you are intolerable. Use friendly talk and your listening ability to make others comfortable with you.
Step-4 Follow Up:
This trick is important because after some days your targets would not remember you and it would be difficult for you to reach the goal. Therefore, stay in touch with them by sending a brief email about the interesting talk and good time you had in the event. Once you get a response from the target you are all set to form a relationship.
