5 Questions To Put Anxiety In Check

By:

Nobody ever thinks of the moment when they'd all of a sudden have their first anxiety attack, as if it was a holiday. Sadly, these events do occur frequently and even take over some people's lives. You can prepare yourself to get through this problem, and stop anxiety attacks by asking 5 easy questions.

1. Are you overwhelmed with duties?

Stress is the leading cause of having anxiety attacks. Overloading your schedule with responsibilities and a weighty agenda can damage your emotional well-being. Try to avoid taking on too many responsibilities, or at least learn to pace them out, make them do-able. You'll find that you have space to breathe, and time to re-cooperate.

2. Have you asked others to help?

Requesting help is perhaps one of the hardest things for people to do. This shouldn't be the case, especially when life becomes overwhelmingly stressful. Be prepared to ask for help with what's on your plate. The last thing you need is to be too ashamed of appearing weak, or too proud, to simply grab onto someone and ask for their help. Work can go so much easier and tasks seem so much simpler with others to help.

3. Do you have any support emotionally?

The classic song, Lean on Me is a perfect one for this point. Find someone that you can lean on in order to get the emotional support and accountability you need to deal with stress. Facing too much alone can really make the tasks at hand feel insurmountable. Find a supporting friend or group of them, in order to stop anxiety attacks.

4. Are you planning on having fun?

It doesn't matter how busy you are, you need to really schedule some fun into your schedule. It can go really far in loosening up some of your tension, allowing you to release some pressure, and take a load off your mind for a while. It can be as extravagant or as simple as you need in fact, the simpler, the better (less stress that way), but just be sure to make it something that you like to do in order to relax.

5. Are you neglecting your health?

This last question can really help you stop anxiety attacks. Many don't get enough of the right nutrition, rest or physical activity to be really healthy. Getting a good workout 2-4 times a week (try walking), eating well and resting properly can go very far in assuring you don't have another panic attack. Take care of your body and your body will repay you, long after your to-do list is a relic of history.
