5 Natural Fat Burning Foods

By:

It is easy to believe promotional advertising that tells you that natural fat burning foods are exotic and expensive. After all, if such foods were common, wouldnt more people be thin? Foods that help you burn fat are everyday items such as the right oils, grains and proteins. There is no magic formula or superfood that will suddenly help you drop unwanted pounds, and certainly no miraculous diet pill that will allow you to eat whatever you want and still burn fat.

Whole Organic Eggs

Eggs have a really bad reputation but it isnt justified. Eggs or organic whole eggs, in any case--especially those that are DHA fortified--are high in omega 3 fatty acids, provide great protein and help you burn fat. The catch is you absolutely must eat the yolk as well as the white since 90% of the nutrients in the egg are in the yolk. Iron, zinc, thiamine, folate, panthothenic acid and more are all contained in that yolk; so eat it without feeling anything but delight.

Beef and Red Meat

Thats right; you should be eating red meat if you want to burn fat. Grass fed, not grain fed, red meat is high in omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin E and a number of healthy fats in the right proportion and of the right type to help you burn fat on your body. Stick to grass fed beef and bison that you can find at a variety of healthy food stores and you will be able to enjoy your steak and know that it is helping you to achieve the lean body you desire.

Berries

High in fiber berries help you to feel full for hours. They are also packed with nutrients vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, which help your body function at peak performance. The fiber also helps to prevent insulin spikes caused by any carbohydrates you eat simultaneously. Finally, because berries are naturally sweet they can be used to sweeten protein shakes, oatmeal or a number of other blander foods.

Nuts

Raw nuts are a powerhouse of fiber, healthy fats and nutrients. Yes, nuts are high in fats but they are the right fats. These fats help your body shed its fat. Stick to raw nuts, not roasted and salted ones. Almonds are your best choice but macadamias and walnuts are also good selections.

Oatmeal

We are not talking about the pre-flavored, sugar loaded packets of instant oatmeal you can purchase at the store. Steel cut oats, also knows and pinhead oats, are what you need.

Filled with soluble fiber, these little gems release their carbohydrate energy slowly, over several hours, keeping you full from breakfast until lunch time. Oatmeal also helps reduce cholesterol levels and burn body fat. It has been cited in studies that indicate it decreases the chance of colon cancer and heart disease. Sweeten it with some berries, or if you must a bit of raw honey.

There are plenty of other great natural fat burning foods that will keep you satisfied and full. Start with these 5 and expand your knowledge as you go.
