This Will Smith movie reminds the watcher that it is hard work and perseverance that win the day, not luck or inherent talent. Writers are reminded that their works will not just appear out of thin air but that they must constantly strive to improve their work.

As Billy Elliot fights to pursue his dream of becoming a ballet dancer, he meets resistance from pretty much everyone in his life.
