5 Deadly Mistakes Wedding Vendors Make

By:

While many wedding vendors are desperate for more brides in their biz, it
may be surprising that a lot of brides are already there, just waiting to
buy. But, when costly mistakes are made in the business, brides can be
turned off and wont buy! Avoid the following 5 mistakes and run a
fabulous business that brides L*OV*E!!
1. Not returning calls or responding to inquiries. Unfortunately, it
seems that even when brides call to inquire about services, they often do
not even get a response back from vendors. Weve heard this complaint
from brides for years around this. They dont understand why vendors
wont call them back or send them an email in response to wanting to use
them for their services. And, quite honestly, I dont get it either. If brides
are waiting with money in hand to work with you, please call or email
them back! Otherwise, you can just look at this as throwing away cold
hard cash. Yuck!! Who likes that? (not me!)
2. Not listening to the client. This is probably the most common
mistake made! You cannot properly serve brides in your business and you
cannot properly sell to brides or clients to make money without really
listening to what brides have to say. This means listening before the sale,
during the wedding planning process (no matter
your role in the wedding planning) and following
weddings and events with surveys to see how you
can improve next time around.
3. Not following up with the bride. After
sending a bride a proposal or a time to setup an
appointment, are you dropping the ball? What I
mean by this is do you follow up with a phone
call, an email, a card to make sure that they received information from
you? This can be very time-consuming, but its also very, very
important...and an easy way to get more business!
4. Missing Deadlines! If you say that you will meet a certain deadline,
youll email a contract or get something together by a certain date.do
it! Nothing says Im not going to be true to my word than not doing
what you said you would do! Not good at all!!
5. Being Late. If you want your clients to lose faith in you or if you want
them to get really annoyed with you, just show up late
for meeting or even worse, on the wedding day! Its
quite shocking to me how many wedding vendors are
late to get acquainted consultations (so much for a first
impression), planning meetings (the brides getting
nervous now about your dependability), or to the
wedding itself (you will NOT have a happy bride on
your hands).
Your Bride Attraction Assignment:
Most of these areas are just common courtesies that, unfortunately, many
wedding businesses owners have simply forgotten about. In order to have
good relationships and get great referrals from other brides and vendors,
make sure that you are NOT committing one of these deadly business
sins!
