A trip to Atlantic City can be a great thing; if you're prepared for all that the city has to offer. For a first-time visitor or someone who hasn't seen all that much of the city, though, it can be a bit confusing. How do you find the best things to do in the city? The Pier:

If you're looking for a great Atlantic City family activity or a fun place to take a date, you've got to try Steel Pier. It's a carnival and midway that will bring out the little kid in anyone. You'll love the twenty-four fabulous rides and the great carnival food. What you'll love even more than all of that is that the admission to Steel Pier is free and the pier is even located close to both the beach and the casinos. In fact, the Trump Taj Mahal Casino is right across the street.

The Famous Boardwalk:

There are a couple of reasons that the Atlantic City boardwalk is so famous. One is that it was the model for the famous Monopoly game boardwalk space. Another is that people have been flocking there for years to enjoy the great seaside views and shops.

All over the four mile plus boardwalk, there are shops. There are also wonderful eateries. In fact, the boardwalk is famous for saltwater taffy that everyone, no matter what their age, will love. Speaking of love, many lovers have enjoyed a walk along the beach, which is easily accessed from the boardwalk.

A Visit To The Absecon Lighthouse:

Absecon Lighthouse is another sight in the city that you shouldn't miss. In fact, you really can't miss it. That's because no other lighthouse in the entire state is taller than it. Each year the lighthouse, built in 1855, hosts various events, like wine tastings and murder mysteries. So, you should definitely look into what's on their schedule during your trip. You could find some great things to do at the lighthouse.

Believe It Or Not, It's Ripley's:

Ripley's Believe It Or Not museums are known for collecting strange, unusual and, sometimes, disgusting treasures from around the world. Over 12 million people have seen the sights that Ripley's has to offer. So, although it may not be for the weak stomached, you should give it a try. Believe it or not, it's well worth the trip.

Gambling At The Casinos:

The fifth great thing to do in the city is, of course, gamble. Everyone likes trying their luck at the slots, testing their skills at the poker tables or trying any of the other great casino games. Luckily, there are plenty of casinos to choose from. Each one has a unique look and style all its own. For example, if you want a blast from the past, try the Bally's Wild Wild West Casino. You can also try Caesar's, any one of the three Trump casinos or any of the other casinos that are spread throughout wonderful Atlantic City.
