4 Tips To Do Less And Double Your Income

By:

Is it possible to double your income by doing nothing? The answer is both, "yes" and "no". While there is no button that is going to magically double your income, you can have some instant gratification by following simple strategies that help you identify your goals in life and live your life doing them. If your goal is to double your income, you need to make small steps towards that every day.

1.Delegate
This is a big one. Delegation means that you find someone else to do the job. Maybe you don't have enough time. You might not even be the best person for the job. You aren't going to double your income by doing every little thing--including the things you aren't good at.

For example, I know how to market. Actually, I market things fairly well. However, I'm not the best at it. Some people do it better than me. I hire them to do that task, and I focus my energy on things that free up my time for things I excel at doing.

This applies to both your home life and work life. If you don't like doing it or don't do a good job at it, you won't get the best results. At home, it may be worth your time to hand over $20 and let someone else sort out that coupon drawer that you've been meaning to do for the past seven years. If you can't stand mowing the lawn, hire someone to do it. If you need more time for work, ask a friend or relative to watch the kids.

2.Time management
People that are successful at time management set goals and work towards them every day. It takes some planning to get there. Try creating a schedule. It may be worth your time to learn some time management software. Prioritize the things that are most important and help you achieve your goals. Sometimes, we stop our progress dead in its tracks just by not making a decision. When you recognize your goals with a plan, decisions are easier.

3.Leverage
Imagine if I was the only one running my business. Do you think that I would be successful? Most likely, the answer will always be no. "Leverage" isn't a dirty word. It's a smart word. It means that you have discovered how to do less and see more profits.

4.Don't over commit
This problem is a common one. For some reason, we think that we must do it all to be successful. People that are overcommitted may not trust someone else to do it. You have to let go. To be truly successful, spreading yourself thin won't get you anywhere. Pick the things you love doing, and do those first. Someone else could do the things you don't love much better, anyway. Don't be afraid to set boundaries.

My life's work centers on helping people focus and identify what they want in life. The truth is if you want to double your income that it's only a small part of what will truly help you live in wealth. What is wealth, after all? A dollar amount isn't always attached to wealth. Think about the kind of life you want to live, and the money you need to live it.
