4 Steps To A Successful Google Adwords Campaign

By:

It is not enough to get a Google Adwords account. You should know how to manage the account so that you can spend less and yet earn a lot more. Right use of the tool has resulted in boosting several businesses by giving them targeted traffic for a very insignificant spending. But there are a few businessmen too who have not been able to use the tool well and have spent quite a large sum of money and have not got the traffic or the conversions they should have. A proper study of the techniques used for a successful campaign can help you to do better in the future.

Designing the Ad

The layout of the ad is very important in a Google Adwords campaign. This is the first step and you have to think from the perspective of the visitor. The ad should be attractive enough and should have a good title and catchy text for the prospective buyer so that he will want to click on the ad and be enticed to spend his money on your product. Be very careful about following all the rules and regulations set by Google or else your ad will be disabled. There might be some searchers who are oblivious to the fact that they are wasting your money when they click on the ad even when they have no intention of buying the product. You can place the price in the ad itself to avoid such searchers.

Making a Study

Deciding on the right keywords can be quite tricky in Google Adwords. You have to think what the prospective buyers will want to see in the ad. You have to imagine the keywords which you want the ad to be found for. Otherwise you will end up using keywords which get you little traffic and the entire campaign will turn out to be very expensive. Try to think of all possible phrases in which the keywords can be used and the searcher will want. Get a list of around 250 keywords and search phrases which can make a comprehensive list. You can use the Google keyword tool too if you want.

Trying to Optimize

There will be a suggested cost per click in the Google Adwords campaign. You dont have to pay this amount and in fact, it is much higher than necessary. It has been found that for keywords which are quite effective and yet not quite so competitive, you should pay half the price than that of the highly targeted keywords. Begin modestly so that you dont lose much if you fail. When the pricing has been fixed up for all the keywords you have used, get the campaign to work. Watch for a few days and then track the response. You will find that a few keywords get you conversions while some others dont. You can delete them and start again.

Its Time To Experiment

You should be ready to experiment to make your campaign more successful. Try to change a few words in the ad to see the difference in the number of visitors. You can create as many ads as you want and this may give you innovative ideas. You can choose the one which gives you best results. Keep experimenting with the keywords and Ad groups so that your sales increase and the Google Adwords campaign is a success.
