I know that as you surf the web and research various online money making opportunities, it seems that everyone is making pocketfuls of money. Well, this is not necessarily true.

Don't get me wrong, there are thousands of people making very good livings working a home based internet business. But there are millions struggling to make any money at all. How do you set yourself apart and become one of the thousands making a good living?

Planning is a key component to your success and goes hand in hand with your learning. As you research and learn you need to develop your plan.

It is best if you lay out a written plan to follow as you build your business. Of course this plan will be changed many times as you progress in building your home based business. But having a written plan helps you to stay on course.

3. Generating Traffic To Your Website

In today's world Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is highly touted and I am sure if you are reading this article you have heard about SEO.

The main purpose of SEO is to do the things necessary to rank you high in the search engines using certain keywords that you have chosen to optimize. This in turn will drive more traffic to your website from the search engines. This is explanation is very simple as most SEO models are quite complicated.

Search Engine traffic is important but is certainly not the only means of generating visitors to your site. You need to be using multiple methods of online marketing with the intention of driving visitors to your site.

This is so important and an issue that we all struggle with from time to time. It is so easy to get distracted. You might need to look something up on the web and before you know it you have spent 2-3 hours surfing around.

You will also find that as your business grows so will the volume of emails you receive daily. These can also be a huge distraction and you can spend hours reading them and visiting the sites they are pushing.

You will also find many tempting money making strategies out there. Some will work most will not. The bottom line is that there is no get rich quick plan out there. If this persons plan is so good, why do they need to sell it?

What I tend to do is look closely at the few plans that are closely aligned to what I am already doing. This way I am maintaining my focus on my plan and not wasting time trying something new.
