Towels are a regular part of our lives. We use it for various things such as drying up after a bath or for wiping any liquid. There are different essential towels that are for different purposes which one should have at home. Here are 4-most basic and essential

1. Bath Towels
These are the towels that one uses to dry up their hair and body after a bath. These come in various sizes but the standard size is 75 x 150 cm. However, if you feel like you want something bigger, you can easily find those as well. At minimum, you should have 2 sets of bath towels for each person in your home. This is so that you have an alternate when you wash one of the towels. Depending on your preference and usage, you can wash your bath towels every week or twice a week. Some prefer to change their towels daily. Also, try to have an extra set or two that are meant for unexpected visitors.
2. Face Towels
Face towels are, as the name suggest, used for the face. The standard size for this one is 30 x 30 cm. These are just used when you wash your face. The minimum again is to have 2 sets for each person. If you have a common bathroom that is used by visitors, have a separate set for these and replace them immediately once the visitors have left. If you wash your face frequently and if you often have visitors, it is best to have 3 to 5 sets of face towels.
3. Hand Towels
These are the towels used for the hands. The standard size for this type of towel is 30 x 60 cm. These are often found near the wash area or the sink of your bathroom. For some people, they also have hand towels in the kitchen other than kitchen towels. It is important to have different sets of hand towels for different people and different purposes. Also, this is the most frequently used towel. So it is best to have these replaced daily. Depending on the purposes, number of areas and persons in your house, add these up and multiply it by at least 5. This number should be the number of hand towels that you must have at home.
4. Kitchen Towels
Kitchen towels have 3 main purposes: to wipe the hands, to wipe kitchen counters and to wipe washed plates. It has the same standard size as the hand towel, 30 x 60 cm. It is best that you have 5 sets of kitchen towels for each purpose. Just like the hand towel, not only is this type of towel used frequently, it is used for dirty surfaces. As for the kitchen towel for the dishes, it is best to replace this daily as well to ensure that your dishes are clean. Remember this is where you place your food.
There are other types of towel such as beach towels, foot towels, sweat towels and more. You can buy these when you need them. However, the 4 types of towels listed above are essential.
