4 Changes You Can Make For A Healthier Lifestyle

By:

If you feel run down and tired all the time you are probably not getting enough of the essential nutrients that your body needs to function properly. Many people today live very fast paced lives and give little and no priority to the quality of food they put in their mouths. It is no surprise that conditions such as obesity, heart disease and diabetes are on the rise. If you feel tired, exhausted and are frequently getting infections then this is your body telling you something is not right.

You need to take a long hard look at your lifestyle and the diet you are eating to ensure you remain healthy. These do not have to be major changes to your lifestyle it is just a matter of making them a habit.

Try the following steps to help boost your energy levels:

Drinks

Many people are addicted to coffee and tea which are high in caffeine. They cannot leave the house unless they have that mug of coffee to make them feel fully awake. Caffeine is a stimulant which means you need to take more of it to get the same affect. Try and introduce healthier options such as herb teas that contain no caffeine. If you cannot do without your caffeine kick then drink more green tea.In the morning rather than reach for the coffee take a glass and fill it up with warm filtered water and add a slice of lemon. This will help cleanse your stomach and digestive system. Make a fruit juice that will provide you with plenty of nutrients and vitamins.

Meat

If you eat a lot of red meat you should consider cutting down. Red meat especially beef and pork can be high in saturated fats. Eat leaner and healthier alternatives such as chicken and game birds that have less fat and are easier to digest.

Fish

Fish contains the essential fatty acid omega 6 which is very good for your joints and blood circulation. The best oily fish are mackerel, herrings pilchards and tuna. If you find it difficult to access fresh you can try fish oil tablets with vitamin E.

Exercise

As well as a healthy diet acquire the habit of doing regular exercise as your body will thank you for it. If you feel you do not have the time then do not worry. Just 10 to 15 minutes a day doing an activity that makes you out breath will do you the world of good. For example, at work take the stairs to your office rather than the elevator.
