The 35mm slide converter or negative scanner is a must tool for any photographer whether your are still using film or digital format. These device converts your slide or negatives to a digital format in which you can store it on your computer's hard drive or a memory card. Whenever everything is setup correctly, just pop in the slide or the negative on the machine and press that scan or start button and viola! you will have a digital image of your old negatives. These will be of higher quality as compared to scanning the picture themselves.

You will have an option whenever you are scanning on what the resolution of the scanned image will be. Whenever you need a picture and wanted it big, you need to set the resolution on the unit to a higher setting and if you just need a regular 4x6 copy, a regular resolution would suffice. Also try to preview the image before scanning them so that you will know on how to image would look like before scanning them.

35mm slide scanners can go up to a 1500 dpi in resolution and can easily save the image to a jpeg one to save on space on your computer. Now, if you have scanned them on the your hard drive, then it is easy to share your photos. You can email them, upload it to your site or print them out and send it via traditional mail to your loved ones. On final thought, this slide/negative scanner device have helped a lot of people preserve memories and now, they will stay put on your hard drive until needed.
