3 Ways To Use Forums For Your Website Or Blog

If you have your own website you really should know and visit the top forums in your niche. In this article I will give you 3 ways that you can use forums as part of your marketing, research and idea generation.

1. Generate Website Traffic

As a webmaster you should know how crucial it is to get visitors to your website. Without traffic you can't make any money. So the first way we can use forums is to generate traffic to our website. A word of warning it is very easy to get banned or seen as a spammer on forums especially outside of the internet marketing area.

Forums are usually quite close knit communities where visitors spend a lot of time especially if it's a passionate niche. So take some time to establish your self, don't just go in all guns blazing saying "hey check out my site".

2. Article Ideas

If you run a blog it can be very difficult coming up with content ideas. Forums are very good to find out what the hot topics are in the niche. If something big happens you can be sure members will hear and talk about it. This should help give you some ideas and a chance to write about it quickly.

Articles are not just for blogs, you can submit them to article directories. If you have a static sales page type website you may not need the content yourself but most news/ blog type are looking for content so you could even approach other sites in your niche advising them you have just written an article about "hot topic" which is hot right now and would they like to publish it. Make sure you are credited with the article and that they will link to your site.

3. Product Development

If you need ideas for a new information product you are developing to sell on the internet then forums are great for that. Forums are full of how to type questions, if you check out some of the posts and then search the forum you should find some topics that are asked about time and time again. You may even see some responses from seasoned that say why does everybody ask that.

If you can't find enough how to type questions for your information product from the busiest forums in your niche, it may be time to reconsider if an information style product is viable for that niche.
