3 Steps To Success In Your Workshop Or Event

Putting on an event or workshop is an excellent way to provide excellent content and connect with your audience. It opens up the possibility for a relationship that just can’t be matched over the phone.

But don’t just mimic others – that is a recipe for disaster. Your best event is done by doing it “your way”.

Tip #1- Get your audience engaged.
Resist the temptation to talk and present the whole time. You run the risk of boring your audience.

The best events include the audience. You can ask questions, give exercises, ask for volunteers on the stage or front of the room, solicit live feedback, and so on. Test some strategies and see what works for you – and the be sure to include audience participation in all or your presentations.

Tip #2- Offer your products or services “your way”.
Again, resist the tendency to follow how others do this. Some people are okay with a “hard sell” – most, however, are not.
Regardless of the outcome, ask yourself “How do I feel most comfortable presenting this information to my audience?”.
Then go in that direction, be sure not to rush through your offer, visualize a positive outcome, and you’ll do just fine.

Tip #3- Have fun!
If you are bored, imagine how your audience feels. Make your event fun!

You can host intimate cocktail parties (the Mark and Bria approach – we love to hang out and get to know our group), show goofy videos, have a silly contest, throw in some good jokes – whatever it takes.

Many people will remember how you made them feel during the event long after they remember the content. And having fun promotes good energy, which translates into more openness and learning.

Remember, this is your time to shine. Follow your intuition, engage your audience, do it your way, and have fun. Your authenticity will attract the clients and customers who are “the right fit” for you. And that, in the end, is the point!
