3 Skills To Being A Successful Life Coach: Part 3

By:

The third critical foundation to building a successful life coaching practice is building your marketing system and sales funnel. This step is about learning how to attract clients consistently and building a steady inflow of new clients. This step is all based on repeated action and discipline. This step is about the commitment to being a professional life coach, when you step away from being an amateur and dabbling in your professions. This is where you let go of fear and you commit all out to a steady practice of mastery, just like you have at other endeavors in your life.

There are six vehicles to building a successful marketing funnel. And all six steps are about providing massive value to your clients. If you want a continuous inflow of clients, then you must provide a continuous outflow of value in the form of your sales and marketing systems.

And none of these vehicles will work without the necessary fuel to run them. That fuel is your passion, your conviction, your confidence and your commitment to being a professional life coach. That fuel is also the space you claim in being a life coach, being the trusted advisor and friend. That fuel is also coming from a deep place of service and contribution.

Once you have the fuel, you’re ready to begin the six steps. But you have to practice them over and over. And within the six vehicles, there’s many options to explore and master. The first step is market education. These are your teleclasses, webinars, speaking engagements, articles, videos and anything you do to educate your audience. This is about providing massive value and service.

The second step is direct email. These are your newsletters, autoresponders and anything else in the way of adding value by email.

The third vehicle is direct contact. Sales. This is really important because this is when people make the decision to coach with you. Again, this is all about value and contribution.

The fourth vehicle is public relations. This is serving your clients in a public manner. You can volunteer at organizations that serve your clients. These also include joint ventures and other relationship building exercise. These can be interviews or anything serving your clients.

The fifth vehicle is advertising. This is primarily about making sure you get found so people can experience your value. Pay-per-click and advertising on Facebook are all possibilities.

The last vehicle is the Internet. There is an endless amount that can be done, so start exploring. Begin with your website. Learn about SEO and being found. Learn how to syndicate your articles and make videos. The Internet is about distribution and content. People go to the Internet to find information, so it’s your job to provide as much information and value that you can.

Implementing all these components is something else entirely. All I can say is that you become a different person when you take on the habit of living these steps. The cells in your body change. You gain experience. You go through the fire. You will experience success as a life coach if you just commit to doing these steps every day and continuing to work on, refine, practice and getting better at making these systems work for you.
