3 Reasons Why It Is Important To Encourage Your Child To Bike

It is becoming increasing difficult to get kids to play outdoors with the advent of computer games and many hours of entertaining kids programme on TV. As parents, it is our responsibility to get them away from all of this and actually get them outdoors. We are going to discuss three important reasons to encourage a child to bike. If included in the daily schdule of a child, it may have positive outcomes.

1. Cycling promotes exercise

Obesity is rising all over the world, especially in the United Kingdom. No country is free of it. One of the reasons that obesity is such a big problem is because kids are spending so much time indoors. One of the best reasons for encouraging your child to bike is to promote exercising. If you get them started on exercising at a very young age, they'll probably enjoy it more when they're older. It will also create a habit that can last long into the rest of their lives.

2. By being outside they'll get their Vitamin D dosage

Your child needs to spend at least twenty minutes outside every day to get Vitamin D into their bodies. The only way to do this is for them to spend time in the sun. If they're spending time outdoors make sure that they have the necessary sunblock. You don't want them to get sun burnt.

3. It encourages a strong bond between child and parent

Most parents simply do not have the time to spend with their children. By enforcing a rule that your children must cycle every single day for half an hour, you're also pushing yourself to spend more time with them. It's important that you spend time with them every day to grow a life time bond that can't be broken by anything. It is also something fun that you can do with your child and it'll be good for both of you. Plan cycling trips and go to the park every day. You'll be thanking yourself in the long run.

These three reasons for encouraging your child to bike are critical for any parent. Make sure that you encourage your child to bike so that they can get used to exercising on a daily basis, increase their Vitamin D intake and encourage a life-time bond with your child. Cycling is fantastic for children and for adults and the sooner we get our kids addicted to it the better.
