3 Reasons To Build Your List

By:

One of the biggest mistakes new internet marketers make is to allow visitors to their website to leave without making an attempt to collect contact information from them. There are quite a few reasons that this is a bad idea, starting with losing potential sales.

Here are 3 reasons you need to maximize your internet marketing efforts by capturing contact information from your site visitors.

1. Building Your Reputation

In order to get potential customers to buy from your site, you need to give them a reason to trust you. With so many sites that charge too much and deliver too little, your customers need to know that what you are offering is worth what you are asking them to pay.

One of the concepts of internet marketing with emails is to give plenty of useful information with just one or two links back to your sales page. You don't make a sales pitch; you just include the link and let your readers decide whether or not they want to click on it.

That doesn't mean that you never try to sell to your list. You will want to occasionally send a sales message, but the majority of your messages will be articles and "how-to" information. You want to give information that your readers can use.

Over time your readers will start to look at you as a trusted expert. You will have a reputation of being knowledgeable, and your readers will start to feel like what you are selling will be worth what you are charging. At that point your readers become customers.

2. Multiple Contacts Increases Sales

Marketing studies have shown that most people will not act on a sales message until they have been told to act multiple times. That means when they get to your page, nearly 99% of the people will leave without making a purchase.

In order to make enough contact with your visitors to get them to act you need to get their contact information. You can then and contact them on a regular basis, and a significant number of them will eventually purchase what you are offering.

While the exact number of people that you can convert into buyers depends on your product and your sales pitch, some internet marketers claim that their sales conversions increase 7 to 10 times. That means instead of 1 sale for every 100 visitors, you will be getting 7 to 10 sales.

The great part is, once your messages are written and loaded into your autoresponder the system is completely automated. You will not have to do anything to get those additional sales. All of the work was done up front. Now all you have to do is pay your monthly autoresponder fees and watch the sales roll in.

3. Increased Potential for Multiple Sales

Another great thing about being able to contact your customers is to let them know when you are rolling out new products. You have a database full of people that are interested in your topic, so they are more open to the idea of checking out your new product.

When you sell quality products it makes it that much easier to sell your customers additional items. In fact, if they were happy with your first offering they will be more likely to purchase items from you at a premium price.

An added advantage is, you not only do you get additional sales, you get to sell items that are much more expensive than your first offering. You can more easily convince them to buy higher end products that give you more profit.

To be successful with internet marketing you need to take advantage of opportunities that are available. If you are successfully driving traffic to your website, you need to take advantage of that traffic by capturing their contact information.

Use your list to keep in contact with your potential customers and watch your sales grow.
