3 Quick Marketing Gems

3 Quick Marketing Gems

By:

At times it can be quite uncertain at what you should do to market your business when you are starting out. What provides you the best return on your marketing dollar and how to ensure you maximise the marketing budget you do have. Marketing is nothing more than increasing the awareness of your product or service. When you think of it in those terms it becomes a little easier to understand some simple marketing strategies that you can use.

No matter where you go or turn there is an opportunity to increase product or service awareness, you just need to think a little outside the box. Whether it is in print, online, offline or through voice building your profile and business awareness is the key to making sales. Here are a few simple ways you can market your business in the next 60 minutes.

First your contact details should be on everything. Your business cards, email signatures, flyers, postcards, websites, social media, business car, etc. Quite often we forget the most important aspect and that is allowing someone to make contact with us. It does not matter if it is a phone number, email or website but make sure they can see how to contact you clearly.

Secondly and probably the easiest but least used is the power of verbal communication. How many friends do you have? How many friends do they have? And they have? You can see how you can quickly have your business and your message in the circle of a lot of people just through communicating what it is we do. The problem arises that we do not like to feel we are pushing our business onto friends, therefore we do not tell them how they can help us. In fact most people love to be able to help, so start letting other people know what your business is, what it does and the sorts of people that you are looking for. Then ask them would they mind telling other people they know about it.

Finally use the media to get known. Whether it be a local paper, radio station or magazine or a state or national media outlet, you will be amazed the exposure your business, product and service can get instantly and usually for free. Media outlets are always looking for a good story, team up with a charity, raise money there are many things you can do to create PR and interest. Technology these days allows for online radio and TV programs, be a guest, share your expertise and increase awareness. Most business owners only think the media is for advertising; however there are many ways to get free exposure by thinking outside the box.

Everything you do in your business when you communicate with others should be increasing your profile, which is then marketing your business. Most the time we just need to do it more often.
