3 Must Have Technologies in 2011 and Beyond

The Smart Phone
Lots of people have a smart phone, but are they using it as a WiFi hotspot?  Earlier this year, Google released The Android 2.2, which now allows users to turn their Android powered smartphones into WiFi hotspots. Basically, you can plug your smartphone into a laptop and surf the web no matter where you are now. This little function can change your entire year, especially if you are a businessperson.  Think back to all the times you needed WiFi and didnt have it or all of the money you have spent on $4.99 cent charges to use someone else’s WiFi networks, it is a lot of time wasted.  By having ready access to the internet, you will always be mobile and agile. We expect that all other platforms will follow Google’s lead as 2011 unfolds.

Telemedicine
Telemedicine is the use of technology in the doctor patient relationship.  Through the use of the telephone, email and webcams we now have a way to reach a licensed physician 24 hours a day.  Telemedicine will save the average American tens of hours and thousands of dollars a year.  Along with the savings, every American will be extending their life through healthy living and ready access to doctors.  I personally use HealthNation Connect and have saved 2 trips to the doctor that may have cost me $500 each, all this for $30 a month!

Tablets
As more consumers discover compact tablet devices, new habits will be formed, changing how we manage our increasingly digital lives.  Long life batteries and large screens on tablets provide a truly portable computing experience. We can do more on-the-go with easy to use technology.   I have an iPad and will tell you I love the typing function, though very few people doo.  For the on the go businessman that can’t type 200 words a minute it is a game changer!  The ceBook readers and handheld gaming devices will also likely see growth next year.
