Love handles are a major first sign of obesity. It's one thing to be a bit overweight and have a small gut, however, the minute you start developing love handles, you know that you're getting way overweight.

What are love handles?

The term comes from the fact that you can almost grab a hold of this extra fat as a "handle" during love making. Love handles are considered the excess fat to the right and left of your abdomen that gives you that irregular shape.

It may "sound" good, but it's incredibly bad and very uninviting.

Here are 3 exercises to help you get rid of your love handles.

1. Dumbbell Side Pull Up

Hold a suitable weight dumbbell in one hand to your side, stand straight facing a mirror or wall in front of you. Now, drop to the side the weight is on. Keep your shoulders straight towards the front. Just drop to the side.

Now, pull UP (the weight provides some resistance).

Do at least 3 sets of 12, increase the weight with each set. This exercises directly works your "love handle" area.

2. Sideways Sit-up

This is when you lay down on your back but instead of arching your knees straight up, your turn your upper body to a side and arch your knees on the floor. Now, you put your arms/hands behind your head and pull yourself up at the abdomen.

Do as many of these as you can, both sides of course.

3. Dumbbell Side To Side

Grab a dumbbell with both hands and hold it out in-front of your chest. Now, slowly swing from side to side, but keep your torso and hips straight with the wall/mirror in front of you.

It works not only on your torso and side of your stomach but also works your Upper back.

Don't ignore your abdomen area, especially the area of your love handles. There are many more easy tips you can use right away to start getting healthier by dropping the belly fat!
