3 Avoidable Pay Per Click (ppc) Adwords Campaign Mistakes?

By:

Pay Per Click (PPC) or Adword Campaigns can generate over $100,000 per month in profits. It is the fastest way to start getting traffic to you site. However traffic is not the end of your desires as a website owner or affiliate marketer.

So are pay per click campaigns as simple as you have been reading? That question is worth thousand of dollars. There are lots of training products out there teaching people to take on pay per click (PPC) or adwords campaign out there but I am yet to find one that will tell people the downside if this method of generating traffic and the most important; sales.

Google and the other adwords companies stand to eat all your money without making sure you make one sale if you don't know what you are doing. You will be amazed at how much clicks you would have to pay for within a 24 hours. Just think about the population of people searching on Google per day and it should all make sense to you.

Here are the 3 mistakes that new website entrepreneur make when it comes to pay per click (PPC) or adwords campaign:

1. Keyword Research

Do not lunch a campaign without doing a thorough keyword research. One Keyword, just like in a regular dictionary can refer to many niches or category of product and services. Keyword research is very important in order to direct prequalified traffic to your website.

2. Constant Testing and Split Testing Landing Pages.

Testing your corresponding keywords landing pages and especially ads will have to be a periodical routine. In the world of pay per click (PPC) or adword campaigns, trends do change. What works yesterday may not work today anymore. Therefore you need to be on your feet and analyze you click through rate and most importantly, your conversion rate. This ensures that you bring the right traffic (prequalified traffic).

Pay lots of attention to writing ads that will generate prequalified traffic. Do not write ads to mislead people. The repercussions of that are instant. You will throw money in the dumpster and run your self out of business too quick. Ad writing is beyond the scope of this article unfortunately.

3. Underestimating Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Google and other search engines evaluate your website with a value called Quality Score. Quality Score is measured between 1 and 10; 10 being the best. Usually your website is assigned at least 7 if you have good content from the get go.

Unfortunately, you need to be better than average which in my opinion is the 7. The way to do that is through search engine optimization. Many people get the impression that pay per click or adwords campaign is sufficient. That mentality will run you out sooner than later.

Learn all you can about SEO and get on it as you work on your campaign. It will increase you quality score dramatically and reduce your biddings for keywords and therefore save you lots of cost per clicks. SEO has to work hand in hand with PPC in order to have a successful and optimized PPC campaign. Good luck!
