3 (free) Ways To Generate Traffic To Help You Make Money Online

There are many ways of generating traffic online, some paid and some free. If you use free methods you can start a business for next to nothing and if you already have a website, you can make more money online since you get to keep 100% of the profits.

Free traffic can also convert to sales just as well as paid traffic and just imagine not having to pay for traffic or cutting down your advertising costs significantly.

Here are my top 3 recommendations:

Article marketing
You can get a steady and free supply of traffic from article directories. You can also establish yourself as an expert in your niche by showing that you are in the know. This traffic generation method has been going strong for years and will continue to do so because content still is king.

How does article marketing work?
You write an article on your chosen topic and place a link back to your site in your article. Anyone who reads the article then clicks on the link back to your site.

If you submit your article to potentially 100s of sites, it means you get a lot of people reading your articles and visiting your site. Search engines also include your article in their rankings so you get free search engine traffic too.

Blog commenting
Find a list of high traffic blogs in your niche (see the blog directoryTechnorati.com) and leave comments to posts. People will read your comment and click on your signature which takes them to your site. You know if a blog has high traffic if it gets around 5-10 comments per post, per day.

Classified ads
You can also post an ad about your product or service on classified ad sites. Start with Craigslist.org which gets a lot of traffic. Its very easy to use but you can only post your ad locally.

Summing up
This is just a brief overview of each technique but enough to get you started and getting some traffic. Experiment with article writing and submitting articles to as many high profile directories as you can such as EzineArticles.com.

Make a list of 10 blogs or so and experiment with these by posting on them each day and seeing which blogs bring the most traffic then add and delete from your list accordingly.

There are also many classified ad sites to try as well. Again, experiment with these for the best return.
