Yes, quick weight loss is attainable. In fact, it is much easier to lose a little bit of weight quickly rather than trying to sustain that weight loss over a long period of time. The reason for this is that there are a number of tricks you can use to lose weight fast but don't expect it to stay off. OK, now let's take a look at two methods you can utilize to drop a few pounds quickly and do so in a healthy manner. With these two methods you can shed anywhere from 5 to 25 pounds in a short amount of time without much effort.

The first way to lose weight quickly is by totally cutting out carbohydrates from your diet. I am sure you have heard about this one, the Atkins Diet which is still very popular to this day. The reason for it's popularity is it's ease of implementation and the quick results attained. This type of diet puts your body in what's called a state of Ketosis. Diabetics usually find themselves in this state as it is common for their disease. When in this state, the body searches for the energy it needs in the body's fat stores instead of in carbohydrates you would normally be consuming. By using this method, your body will be forced to lose a lot of weight by eating up it's fat stores for energy. When using this method you may experience headaches and some slight illness but the end results may just be worth it.

If time is on your side, you can follow this method that may just sustain weight loss for the rest of your life. This can be attained by eating foods that are low on the glycemic index. Following this method involves eating vegetables, quality proteins like chicken or fish, legumes and either black beans or lentils. Eating these three things at every meal will enable you to see dramatic and sustainable results in as little as a month's time.
