These 2 foods that were going to talk about, have most people believing that they are "healthy" for you. It usually surprises people to mention to them that they should consider removing these from their daily diet.

Everyone knows how bad trans fat and high fructose corn syrup are for you these days, so I"m going to save that lecture for another time. Instead, continue reading to see how 2 foods that may actually shock you to know"could be packing on the extra fat.

The first food that is often believed to be healthy for you is wheat products. And yes" I"m including "whole wheat" in this category of fatty foods. This includes most of all breads, muffins, cereals, crackers, pasta, etc.

There is a large percentage of the population that can not tolerate the gluten found in wheat and other grains. There are also full blown celiacs, who are the most sensitive to this. But, the majority of the population doesn"t realize that people were not meant to consume large quantities of wheat and that"s because the human digestive system has never adapted to large quantities of wheat in their daily diet.

Wheat was introduced a couple of thousand years ago into the human diet and was never in mass quantities until about 100 years ago. This is a small amount of time when you compare it to the more traditional diet humans acquired several thousand years ago"consisting of meats, vegetables, fruits, seeds, and nuts. You might say, a hunter"s collection.

Eliminating wheat from the body for 2 to 3 weeks can make a huge difference. Not only will you start losing body fat much faster, but some people will finally feel relief from headaches and indigestion that has plagued them for years. Sometimes even some skin problems go away when eliminating wheat from the diet.

Now, the second type of fattening foods that shock most people and was thought to be "healthy" is fruit juice. That"s right" fruit juice!

Not that I"m an anti-carb advocate per se" I think most fruits are very healthy for us. But, on the other hand we were not meant to separate the juice from the fruit and leave behind the fiber and other beneficial elements of these fruits our bodies need. Thus, giving us a high calorie sugary mixture to drink.

Apple juice and orange juice are the 2 worst culprits in the western diet. When you drink the juice from either of these 2 fruits, you are left craving more carbs because you"re not satisfying the appetite effect of the fiber that"s left out. Also, when eating whole fruit, it helps to slow down the blood sugar response compared to fruit juice.

The bottom line here is" consuming too much fruit juices makes you fat. Eating whole fruit includes the fiber needed to maintain a healthy, balanced diet and a high nutrient density. That is to say as long as whole unprocessed foods are included in your diet.
