Having a guest in your home can be somewhat embarrassing especially when your guest room is also your library and office. You have a basement and there is an old sofa bed and a couple of throw pillows. Than will do for a while but dont you wish you have that extra room in your home that you can offer to your guest and they can at least call it home away from home? I am sure they will be quite impressed if they take pleasure in a room especially you prepare for them.
Well it is time to convert that spare room into a haven than can equal any
1.If there is a drawer in the room, put a sewing kit on it. Remember that traveling can cause a lost button or a torn hem so it is very useful for your guest.
2.Cotton is soft so always give your guest fresh and comfortable sheets. Choose a sheet with a high thread count as it will give more softness.
3.If you have a quilt or duvet you can use it as cover just make sure it is clean. You can freshen it up by spraying diluted lavender on it and let it dry outside.
4.Lay out fine, luxurious towels and you should always give your guests sufficient towels during their stay or you can spare them a space in your towel rack. Buy towels before they arrive so that you have enough towels for each guest.
5. Provide your guest with maps and guidebooks to make them feel more at home. You can do this by having it in your home and hand it to them or borrowed some books on your local library about the history and landscape of your place.
6.Provide your guest with a luggage rack or a spare chair so that they can put their luggage on it and feel less living out of a suitcase.
7.Fresh flowers on the bedside will look nice just make sure there is enough water so that the flowers will last longer. Or if fresh flowers are out of your budget, then you can purchase a silk flower arrangement and put them in a good-looking vase. Make sure they dont collect dust.
8.A little entertainment will make your guest feel more at home. You can place a television set or a small radio set on a particular spot. Provide them with earphones just in case your guest is having a hard time to sleep due to jet-lagged.
9.To make your guest more comfortable, you can give them a cloth robe and slippers and they use this during breakfast or going to the shower.
10.An extra blanket would be very useful especially if your guest gets cold or he or she favor sleeping a little warmer.
11.If you an extra coffee maker or tea kettle, you can put this on a table along with spoons, mugs and assorted coffee, sugar, creamers and some herbal tea. Make sure to clean the tray.
12.Provide your guest with enough dresser space, spare closet hanger, a laundry basket and a telephone. This will make your guest feel like he or she at home.
