10zig Technology Breaks The Tradition Zero Client Mold With Their New 8848v

Phoenix, AZ - 10ZiG Technology TM, is pleased to announce the release of the first stage of Project Everest the 8848v Zero Client for support of PCoIP, driven by the 10ZiGs NOS Powered Technology. From pressing the power button to getting a VMview Sign-on Screen is sub 15 seconds, with improvements to that still ongoing. The naming convention stems from the root of our company name 10ZiG (Tenzing Norgay Sherpa), 8848 is the height of Mt. Everest in meters and v is for VMware.

10ZiG first started Project Everest in January of this year, with the idea of making thin client implementations and management more streamlined and resource intensive, referring mostly to the manpower required to install and maintain the units. 10ZiG plans to duplicate their efforts with VMview onto all the major VDI Protocols by the end of Q4. This is the beginning of great things for 10ZiG, says Martin Pladgeman President of 10ZiG Technology. Our focused approach gives, the customers exactly what they need and nothing they dont, maximizing performance, yet taking nothing away from the user experience.

The 8848 is the perfect combination of high performance, lower overhead and sleek small form factor design. The 8848v has been Certified VMware Ready by VMware and delivers a robust desktop experience with little to no management overhead. One of the unique features of our new Zero Client is while the device is optimized for PCoIP, it can be modified to support a different optimized protocol, such as Citrix HDX, Quest vWorkspace etc. Weve found over the last couple of years that customers are looking at thin clients as a 5 to 7 year investment vs. the typical 3 year turnover. For some companies this can cause some concerns as to the long term viability of the desktop unit, if the company were to change to desktop virtualization platforms 4 years down the road; thus leading to a premature desktop refresh. This issue is eliminated with the 10ZiG 8848v Zero Client. That combined with the 8848v being the only VMware Certified Zero Client to support internal b/g/n wireless and USB 2.0 support makes this unit a unique winner in most environments.

The 8848v Offers:

NO Delays. Start up to sign on is less than 15 seconds, thus the end user is wasting little to no time waiting to log in to his/her virtual desktop.

NO Security Threats. With NO virus/malware exposure, plus the ability to lock out the usb ports on the fly, your data is secure.

NO Compromise. Combined with VMwares award winning PCoIP Protocol the end user experience is consistently as good if not better than their original desktop experience.

The 8848v is now officially available for shipment today. 10ZiG is now offering an aggressive introductory price of just $249 for the 8848v. Hassle free demos are also available upon request.
