101 Variations On Pushups

By:

If you have found this article you have to have done some research on exercising or pushups. You probably already have heard about muscle confusion.

This is what trainers do to avoid plateaus in their physical development. If you are not switching up your exercise you are going to notice that the development stops.

I did pushups for months, till I got to the point I could do them for what seemed like forever. And no matter how many I did, I couldn't get my pecs to get any more pumped.

So I started doing research on my own, first thing I found was proper pushup technique. Keep your back straight like there is a medal bar in place of your spine.

Then press your arms a little out from shoulder width apart and try to keep them centered below your pectorals. If you have your hands up higher you will be working more the top portion of your pecs and if you have them lower you will be working the lower portion of your pecs.

After you have done regular pushups, do plyo pushups. These are to train your muscle to react fast, so that you can use them to your full potential.

Plyo pushups will give you a powerful punch, good for fighters. Set up like a regular pushup push into the air as hard as you can try to clap your hands in the air then land pack in pushup position.

Do these as fast as you can for as long as you can. These will turn you into a ninja and give you Bruce Lee's famous "one inch punch".

One of my favorite pec workouts is the suspension. Start in regular position drop down hold yourself just a few inches above the ground.

Hold it there as long as you can now rock forward and back ten times, then side to side ten times and repeat. This one is going to push you to a point of continuous burn, get to that point and go beyond it.

The burning sensation is your muscles tearing apart each little fiber ripping slowly in your chest. This is good and it is what we want.

Ripping muscle causes it to grow back stronger than it was before. That is how we create muscular development.

Doing one arm pushups and side to side pushups are going to get your arms and pecs working in ways they never thought possible. You will be surprised at how much a simple variation in your pushup will increase the workout.
