10 Tips Towards A Clear Skin

By:

Clear skin is essential for helping reduce the possibility of acne breakouts as well as acne scars. It is a lot harder and more expensive to fight existing acne than it is to prevent acne from forming. Cleaning your skin does not have to be a time consuming process, but you do have to do it daily for it to be effective.

1. Wash your face at least twice a day using a mild soap, and hot water.
Rinse with cold water afterwards. Hot water opens pores, while the cold
water will close them again. It is also a good idea to rinse your face with
cold water before applying makeup.
2. Reduce your use of cosmetics as much as possible as these clog up your
pores. If it is necessary for you to use makeup, ensure you use hypo-
allergic products or products designed for people with sensitive skin as
much as possible. Also ensure that you clean all the makeup off your
face at the end of the day.
3. Try keep your hands and your hair away from your face. Your hands and
hair contain oils that may lead to acne breakouts. When you apply
creams or makeup to your face, use an applicator rather than your
hands. Keep your hair tied away from your face.
4. Drink plenty of water in order to hydrate your body and skin. Water
detoxifies the body, removing impurities.
5. Eat a well balanced diet that includes plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables
containing vitamins A and B which help take care of your skin.
6. Limit the amount of time you spend in the sun, especially during the
hottest period of the day (10am to 4pm) and use a good sunscreen.
Overexposure to the ultra violet rays of the sun can lead to acne
breakouts. They can also cause aging of the skin, and skin cancer.
Ensure that you clean the sunscreen off to avoid getting clogged pores.
7. Do not pick at any sores, or squeeze any pimples. This will just cause
your acne to spread, and scars to remain behind on the skin. Instead,
treat the pimples using topical creams, applied with cotton wool.
8. Try to get plenty of rest. While sleeping, our bodies basically reset
themselves. Different hormones are produced while sleeping compared
to while we are awake. Our bodies require at least 8 hours of
uninterrupted sleep per night.
9. Avoid stress. Much easier said than done, but stress is extremely bad for
your skin. While stressed, our bodies produce hormones and chemicals
that are bad for us. Learn some deep breathing techniques, or other
stress relieving techniques to reduce your stress levels.
10. Spoil yourself with a visit to a spa a couple times a year for expert
skincare treatment.
