10 Things To Bring With You When Visiting Madeira Beach, Florida

By:

Madeira Beach is considered one of the best family-friendly vacation spots among all Tampa Bay Beaches. Families come from all over to visit the area, which is free from large, overcrowded, stuffy hotels, and instead, features small vacation rentals and condos, which are perfect for week-long stays.

With that in mind, here are some suggested items for your packing list:

1) Camera The sunsets on Floridas west coast are out-of-this-world and provides the perfect backdrop for a family portrait. And since youll be away from the crowds, you wont have to worry about any interference from fellow vacationers. There will certainly be a friendly bystander or two who will be delighted to take the picture though!

2) Flip Flops Nothing says tacky tourist more than sneakers on the beach. Flip flops are inexpensive and can be purchased at just about any drugstore or grocery store, even ones nearby. Trust me, you dont want sand in your sneakers either!

3) Shorts Florida can get HOT, especially during the months of July and August. Despite a nice, cooling breeze from the gulf, you dont want to be stuck walking around in long jeans if the day suddenly turns into a scorcher. Pack a pair of jeans or slacks for a night out, but fill your suitcase primarily with shorts, or for women who opt for something more conservative, capris will work fine.

4) Tank tops This applies to the shorts rule. Short-sleeve shirts are fine. Sweaters can be left at home unless you get unusually cold at night or indoors.

5) Bathing suits This is an obvious one, since the areas beaches feature warmer waters year-round. Even if the winter water is a bit too chilly for your liking, most Madeira Beach Rentals feature heated pools.

6) Sunscreen Even if youre out in the sun for 30 minutes and youre a Florida resident, you stand a good chance of getting sunburnt. If youre skin isnt used to the sun, and its reflection from the white sand of the beach, youre toast. Purchase the strongest sunscreen available and apply to your entire body. Dont forget your face and your scalp. Keep re-applying. Sunscreen does wear off. A blistering sunburn is no way to spend a summer vacation!

7) A hat This goes along with sunscreen. Often times people, especially women, dont want to apply sunscreen to their scalps because it can make hair look very greasy and oily. You can buy specially-formulated sunscreen conditioning spray for the hair, or you can wear a hot to cover your scalp and protect your face.

8) Sunglasses Youll get a massive headache if you dare go to the beach or even walk around outside without them. You can get a pair cheap at any of the nearby convenience marts within walking distance of Madeira Beach condos.

9) A cooler Spending hours on the beach in the hot sun can be very dehydrating. Bring a cooler down with you, and once you arrive, stock up on water and some of the areas fresh fruit. Fruit is a great way to quench your thirst on a hot day and replenishes vital nutrients in the body lost when sweating. Not to mention, it tastes terrific!

10) A nice going out to dinner outfit The area has so many nice restaurants. Youd be selling yourself short if you didnt visit at least one of them for some upscale fare, particularly seafood. There are plenty of places to visit, all within walking distance of the Condos on Madeira Beach.
