1/8th Scale Nitro Rc Cars A Very Agile And Fast Off-road Rc Vehicle

By:

The 1/8th scale nitro rc cars belong to one of the largest classes of rc vehicles. Its popularity come from the following reasons: the buggies are very fast, they have a reputation of being tough, they have an incredibly good handling and are both a great basher and racer. All the 1/8th scale nitro rc cars are four wheels driven and feature a three differential drive train. This kind of nitro rc car uses front, centre and rear differential to transfer power to each ends and this adds to one of the main tuning aspects of the 1/8th scale nitro buggy. When one changes the oil weight in the differentials, then one radically changes how the nitro rc cars handles jumps and corners including its performance on various types of surfaces such as smooth, bumpy, loose and hard.

One of the variables in 1/8 scale nitro rc cars is the power plant which is a nitro engine that varies greatly from size .15 cubic inch to .28 cubic inch. The .18 to .21 cubic inch engines are the most popular to most manufacturers. One should not get the wrong notion that having a big engine always transforms to greater speed. Most of the time, the nitro rc buggies possessing small engines can be just as fast as those possessing large engines. The big difference is placed in acceleration where the large engine has an upper hand but not always win. It all depends on the surface, whereby the smaller engine can outperform the larger engine on the concept that it gets its power to hook up fast.

Packaging of 1/8th scale nitro rc cars is another variable that counts when it comes to choosing one. Packaging can be categorized into three namely: the buggy is in kit form, where the engine and electronics can or cannot be included. The kit form requires one to complete assembly of rc nitro car. If the electronics and engine are not included, then supply one. The ready to race (RTR) is a package that comes pre-assembled without electronics and engine. This will depend on the manufacturer. Servos can be included in the package but this depends on the manufacturer. The Almost Ready to Run (ARR) is a buggy package that comes pre-assembled without the electronics and engine. This also depends on the manufacturer whereby servos can be part of the package but most of the time they are not included. The kit form is where the electronics and engine may or may not be part of the package. One needs to complete the whole assembly for the new nitro rc vehicle and buy your own engine and electronics if not included.

All the 1/8th scale nitro rc cars have in common with their suspension which can be very sophisticated and complicated. The suspension can be tuned to handle variety of surfaces roads. The performance of this buggy can be improved with changing and adjusting the following: Caster, Camber, Spring rate or weight, Droop, Sway, Wheelbase, Shock Dampering, Offset, Roll centre, track, toe-in/toe-out, kick up among others.
