List building has long been touted as one of the most effective ways to make money online. And I think that it is safe to say that this will be the case for some time now. The trick is, to know how to grow your list in a way that it not only expands in size, but also in profitability. See, a lot of people will build a decent size list, and they really don't know what they should do to effectively monetize that list.

You don't want to have a list of people that are never going to buy anything from you, do you?

Anyways, here are 3 ways that you can grow your list, and hopefully add nothing but hungry subscribers in the process:

1. Adswaps.

This is when you will create an offer sometimes specifically for one person's list and they will agree to do a mailing and vice versa. You are adding some of their subscribers to your list and they are going to be adding some of yours to theirs. One drawback is, if you and the other person effectively promote the same products, you are going to be in direct competition with one another. So, it's much better to find someone that can complement your offer, and not really compete with it.

2. Search Engine Marketing.

Getting high visibility in the search engines is another pretty effective way of adding targeted subscribers to your list. When you are attracting people onto your list that are specifically looking for information in the areas that you are an expert in, you have a much greater chance of conversion, and therefore, putting more money in YOUR pocket. It takes a little time, and sometimes a LOT of time, depending on the competition. But, the rewards can be definitely abundant when you do get to where you want to be and the subscribers land on your list almost on autopilot.

3. Video Marketing.

In today's day and age, it's actually pretty easy and cheap to create decent looking videos that you can upload to sites like Youtube, Viddler, and others that will allow you to get seen by hundreds, maybe thousands or more people in a very short amount of time. Some people will respond much better to seeing a video than they will to seeing an ad or an article, so this can be a great way to reach a broader audience.
