How To Surprise When Giving Jewelry Boxes

By:

Just about anyone likes a pleasant surprise. When something is both a pleasure and unexpected, it can really make ones day. Gifts, of course, make great surprises, but theres an art to making nice surprises out of gifts, but it can be done, even with something as substantial as jewelry boxes. When purchasing jewelry boxes as gifts, it might be thought difficult to make the gift a surprise, but where theres a will, theres a way.

Concealing the purchase - Maybe jewelry boxes arent something you buy every day, and of course the purchase of one could raise questions. If the person whom you are shopping for sees a credit card or bank statement and jewelry boxes come up, thats a big giveaway. You could just say its a gift for someone else, not to worry about it. You could also say it must be a fraudulent charge but thats probably not a good idea. Its a bit of an extreme measure and could lead to unnecessary panic on the part of the intended recipient.

The Arrival Having jewelry boxes sent somewhere other than your home is an easy way to keep the recipient from knowing they have one coming. Have them sent to your office instead, where hopefully nobody who sees it will give away the surprise later. Of course, now you have to smuggle it into your house unseen and jewelry boxes arent always easy to conceal. It helps if you make an excuse to bring a large empty box into the house, and encourage the intended recipient to just ignore it. Now of course, comes hiding it.

Hide and Seek Getting jewelry boxes home and into the house unseen is difficult, but now you have to keep them hidden until the recipients birthday, your anniversary, Christmas, etc. If youre not careful while hiding it, the recipient could find it without even meaning to. It helps if you hide it somewhere where they never go, like maybe the attic. Just make sure its somewhere where you wont forget about it too and then stumble across it months later, finding it covered in dust and then thinking Oh, right. It might be helpful to only bring it into your home and hide it the night before so it doesnt run the risk of being forgotten.

The Big Reveal Theres an art to this as well. Wrapping jewelry boxes up in nice boxes and paper is nice of course, but you can always add a more dramatic touch. You can ask the recipient if they would be so kind as to go into the closet to get one of your ties when, lo and behold, she stumbles on the box instead! Or, to mislead them and change their expectations a little bit, remember that jewelry boxes can fit into a variety of other types of boxes. They might think theyre getting a mixer, or a terrarium, or even a hand-held vacuum cleaner, but when they open it theyll see that they are actually getting a fantastic jewelry box. Be careful though. You might think about putting into the oven to be found when the door is opened, but someone might turn it on before they realize there might be jewelry boxes inside, and your goose and your jewelry box would both be cooked.
