Face Masks For Oil Skin

A face mask is a great way to relax and pamper your skin. These masks are to be made at home and applied, left on for a minimum of a quarter hour and then washed off. It is always best to follow a facial mask with a round of cleansing and a light layer of moisturizer. Another important thing that you have to remember is that you have to be completely relaxed when you are putting on your mask. This will help your skin react better to it.

Facial masks are of various kinds and these depend largely on the skin type that you have. There are several facial masks for oily skin. However, you have to follow certain steps before you put on the mask. A mask is meant to be used as soon as you make it. Should you have excess then you can store it for up to a week in the fridge. Those will oily skin will necessarily have to use a mask once a month. Besides facial masks for oily skin you would do well to wash you face with plain water twice or thrice a day.

Always tone your skin after the mask. The ideal toner would be natural lemon juice. You can dab this on with cotton wool. Also make sure that you use an oil-free moisturizer.

Here are some great facial masks for oily skin. Take half a cucumber and blend it with a tablespoon of yoghurt. Apply this cold mask for 10 to 15 minutes and rinse it off with warm water. The cucumber soothes you skin and yoghurt is a natural exfoliator.

You can make this mask when strawberries are in season. Not only are they great to eat but they make a great facial mask for oily skin. Mash four ripe strawberries and add a tablespoon of yoghurt to it. Mix the two up really well and apply the paste to your face. Once again wash this off with warm water. This mask helps exfoliate as well as remove extra sebum (that causes oiliness) from your skin.

Another great recipe uses one apple and four tablespoons of honey. Grate the entire apple and mix it with the honey. Apply this to your face and make sure you rinse it off in 10 minutes. A single ingredient mask would be to take some Milk of Magnesia and rub it all over your face. This naturally absorbs oil and easily rinses off with lukewarm water.

You can also use some of your breakfast cereal for a great facial mask for oily skin. Boil half an apple and mix it well with a teaspoon of honey and two teaspoons of finely ground oatmeal. The cooked apple acts are a cleanser and removes dead skin and opens up your pores. The oatmeal is good to treat pimples and honey is like an anti-bacterial ointment.

You will have tomato and a lemon in your homes at all times. Mash a medium sized tomato and mix with it half spoon of lemon juice and bit of the grated rind. Apply this mixture to your face avoiding the eyes. After 10 minutes and a lukewarm wash you are bound to feel your pores tighten.
