Wouldnt it be an awesome feeling to walk around with a nice 6 pack? Youre either reading this because you have a belly pudge and want to lose weight or youre too skinny and want to build up your ab muscles. It can be difficult to get a nice set of abs, I am not going to lie. Genetics can make it so someone who doesnt even work out will have better abs than a guy who has been working out for years. However, this doesnt mean that you should just give up. Id like to share with you some of my favorite tips to getting a great looking mid-section.
Abs Tip #1-
The first thing you need to do is the right exercises. You can do sit-ups all day long but you may never actually see your abs like you want. While I have nothing against crunches or sit-ups, its important to use weight while doing them. Youll notice that when youre working out that a lot of exercises that dont focus on your abdominal region are actually the exercises that you work you out the best in that area. Deadlifts are a great example of an exercise that will develop your abs but doesnt necessarily target that area. For any exercise make sure you do at least 12-15 reps because your abs need higher stimulation to grow.
Abs Tip #2-
The next tip is to make sure youre eating metabolism boosting, fat burning foods. If you dont eat healthy youll never see your abs. Most people have a layer of fat that is covering their abs so they need to lose the weight to see them. If you dont have any fat covering your abs go back and focus on the first tip. If you do, its imperative that you watch what you eat to burn fat and to prevent more from forming on your body. This is why they say to eat small meals every few hours during the day. This will keep your metabolism going and it will help you burn any extra calories.
Abs Tip #3-
The last thing you need to do is do some cardio exercise. Of course this only applies to someone who wants to lose weight to see their abs. There are a lot of different forms of cardio you can do. If youre really out of shape you can start out by walking. Most people dont understand how beneficial just walking 20 minutes per day can be for their bodies. Just by doing this youll increase your workload capacity and youll watch the weight slide off. Once you build up your endurance you can go for more rigorous exercise.
