Cleaning Tasks To Do Before Moving Into Your New Home

By:

Once your furniture removal has been completed and you have moved into a new home it may be too late to give it the thorough clean you really want to. Thats why it is important to organise a clean before you move in so that every nook and cranny can be taken care of and you can move in knowing that everything is spic and span.

Organising a cleaner is the first task you should look at, but if you intend to do it yourself its a good idea to develop a checklist so that you clean the areas you know you will have difficulty accessing once the move has been completed.

For simplicity purposes, lets look at a list of the cleaning tasks you need to do before moving into your new home.

* The kitchen. Before you move into a kitchen, its a great idea to take advantage of the opportunity to clean it in a way that you will never be able to do once you have moved in. Lets face it, you spend a lot of time in the kitchen so its important to make sure everything is cleaned properly. So, the first thing to do is to make sure all shelves and cupboards are completely clean. This might mean a simple wipe over with a proprietory cleaning product or, alternatively, replacing shelf coverings so that you have pristine surfaces to start with. When it comes to appliances make sure they are all spic and span before you move in by cleaning the oven with a heavy duty cloth and using baking soda and water. Its also a good chance to use grease remover if you find that regular products that work.
* There is still more to do in the kitchen! Make sure that the food preparation surfaces are scrubbed and cleaned, being careful to only use mild cleaners on the inside of cabinets especially if theyre lined. Then, theres the sink and other stainless steel surfaces. Chlorine free bleaches are the best products to use as they will clean the surface completely and not leave any contaminants behind. Lastly, it is a good chance to clean the walls of your kitchen before you move in. This is a large job, so if you start it early in the morning, you can have everything done by midday.
* Once the kitchen is complete its a simple task to move through the rest of the house cleaning the floors and walls as you go. Its a good idea to sweep the floors first and use a vacuum before starting any heavy-duty cleaning such as floor polishing. If you have heating vents make sure you clean them before the furniture removalists arrive as this can be a meticulous task that needs room to move.

Theres nothing better than moving into a new house that smells clean and polished! Even though the furniture removalists are likely to leave a few scuff marks when moving your furniture in, you will enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing you only have to give the floor a quick once over to bring everything back up to pristine standards.
