lluvia De Estrellas En La Apertura Del Festival De Cannes

Como una lluvia de estrellas calific la agencia de noticias Associated Press la apertura del 64 Festival de Cannes, ceremonia que estuvo a cargo del director italiano Bernardo Bertolucci, autor de "ltimo Tango en Pars", quien, sentado en silla de ruedas, recibi una Palma de Oro honorfica y una emocionante ovacin de pi por parte del pblico reunido en el Palacio de los Festivales, escenario en el que se present Midnight in Paris, primera pelcula del evento, cinta de Woody Allen calificada como un canto a la Ciudad Luz.

A la entrada, prestos a recibir reporteros e invitados estuvieron desde muy temprano figuras como Robert De Niro, Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Uma Thurman, Jude Law, Angelina Jolie, Jack Black y Dustin Hoffman, junto a Allen y parte del elenco de su filme, Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams y Adrien Brody. Fue notoria la ausencia de Carla Bruni Sarkozy, primera dama francesa, quien ya haba manifestado que no estara en Cannes para cuidar el hijo que est esperando.

La gala de apertura del Festival, que concluye el 22 de este mes, se destac por el glamour de actrices como la mexicana Salma Hayak y la estadounidense Uma Thurman, quien caus admiracin y provoc aplausos al subir al lugar asignado al jurado, pues luca un hermoso vestido blanco que realzaba su espectacular cuerpo y dejaba ver sus muslos perfectamente modelados como los de las mujeres que visten las prendas que Vedette ofrece en su tienda.

En esta ocasin el Festival de Cannes tiene una fuerte participacin estadounidense, que se palpa desde el afiche ilustrado con la imagen de la actriz Faye Dunaway sobre un fondo negro, retrato hecho por el fotgrafo y tambin director de cine Jerry Schatzberg en 1970; y la poca presencia latinoamericana, que este ao tendr que conformarse con la cinta de Pedro Almodvar, La piel que habito con la que intentar hacerse de la Palma de Oro, ya que est en la lista de la competencia. Por eso hoy se habla de la norteamericanizacin de Cannes.
