hospital Ceo Mathew Abraham Begins Strong

The new Antelope valley Hospital CEO begins his job tenure with a hefty vote of confidence by the board of directors.

Mathew Abraham has done more work in the past two months than Robert Harenski did in the last two years according to Antelope Valley Hospital board director, Deborah Rice.

Since Abraham was named hospital CEO, He has been there on weekends, hes been there nights, hes gotten to know the employees, he knows the problems and he is working to fix them, Rice said.

He will admit there are problems and he will come up with solutions thats why we made him our CEO, Rice said. He also is cutting down on expenses by eliminating unneeded consultants, reorganizing his staff and reviewing our legal costs she said.

Its a matter of accountability its what were asking for and its what hes going to give us, Rice added.

Steve Fox, the Board Chairman said, Ive seen a 180 degree turn in the morale of the hospitals physicians and employees since Abraham has been hospital CEO. Hes turned everything around. And theres a groundswell of support. I cant see how we could get anybody better for CEO, he said.

Gary Hill, Hospital Board Member said, He came in and hit the ground running. He took some problems that were out there festering and resolved these, he started moving the hospital forward again rather than letting the hospital stagnate as it had prior to him coming on board,hes got good rapport with the doctors.

This is what we need for the hospital to continue to grow and meet the challenge of providing quality medical care and meet the health-care, managed care, crunch-crisis thats coming up. That crisis is going to be a real issue with real problems and we need a very sharp person who can address it and I think (Abraham) can do that, Hill said.

Im glad the board had the confidence and the trust and the appreciation for what Ive done, said Abraham.
