homefront New First-person Shooter Game That Will Shake Up The World

By:

With the very first appearance of the game Homefront, there are many comments spreading around on the net. According to the predictions, seems to be that this game will cause a real earthquake in the world of first-person shooter games, mostly because of the story and the controversies that it causes.

The game is developed byKaos Studiosand published byTHQ and will be released forXbox 360,PlayStation 3, andMicrosoft Windows. Writer of the story is John Milius, and for the ones that dont know, he is the screenwriter of Apocalypse Now, Jaws, Dirty Harry and the mega popular TV series Rome.

This may guarantee an excellent and pretty exiting story, but the thing is that the plot is pretty contradictory. Homefrontis set in the future, actually in 2027 in America in 2027 when USA is invaded by a nuclear-armedKorean People's Army. Could be said that the game twiddles with some of today's biggest political fears, because besides the focusing on the military force that could come from a unified North and South Korea, it follows the death of Kim Jong Il, the North Korean leader and supposes his son to manage to bring the countries together, creating an unparalleled global force.

UnitedKorea has built a massive alliance in East Asia while USA is suffering economic downfall. Actually the game focuses on the collapse of the United States, as a subsequence of the occupation by the Greater Korean Republic, under the rule ofNorth Korea.

The player may join the American resistance, or join the North Korean Forces but only in multiplayer matches. He may fight using guerrilla tactics - inspired byHalf-Life 2, driving military vehicles, and using advanced drone technology.

The multi-player will support up to 32 players in one match, with 16 players on each team, 7 maps for the PS3 and PC and there will be 8 maps for the Xbox 360. Every copy of the game has an online pass, but online pass is not required for multiplayer. Those who play without a pass will be capped at level 5, out of 50.

Even before the official appearance, the game has been censored in Japan, by removing all references toNorth Koreaincluding pictures of Kim Jong-il. Instead of North Korea, the country is named as "A Certain Country to the North" and the leader "Northern Leader", because the Japanese/Asian publisher, Spike, considered that using real names would have been 'malicious' to the 'existing person' and the 'existing country.

In South Korea, the game has been banned from all types of sales. On other hand, according to the Homefront Official Facebook Page, Playstation, Official Magazine Italy gave Homefront a 9/10 rating. The game was evaluated as One of the most intense, emotional experiences of 2011 and according to the critics it was awarded with an 88 out of 100, putting it above famous Call of Duty Black Ops.

THQ says the title is the most preordered game in the company's history, having 200,000 reservations in the U.S. alone and the analyses say that the game will ship 1.5 million copies in its first month.
